Alexis Garcia is a Colombian illustrator who takes fashion as a visual study subject to create images in which predominates the appearance of the textures, patrons, colours and faces that composes a fashion look or a collection.
With an aesthetic that mixes the realistic portrait with clean traced shapes, Alexis draws grotesque and flexible characters in marginal and anarchist situations, using fashion as a tool to endow them with personality, creating in this way a balance between the rudeness and the sensitiveness on the image's context. As a illustrator by vocation and designer by profession, alexis finds in fashion illustration his professional and personal task, that have its beginning in the amateur draw of female and stylized characters, that then evolves in his universitary studies in fashion design, where he finds a visual pretext to create images with a narrative that transits between the black humor and drama, in which he, in a satirically way, shows situations that exposes people’s “bad” behavior innocent / evil , beautiful / grotesque, life / death |
